Our family loves spending sunny days outside together.  In Texas the weather is always changing but we have been lucky enough to have a nice start to spring already.  When I was asked to review the new Castakite I realized it has been too many years since we have flown a kite and gladly accepted.  Thankfully we had a beautiful day with plenty of wind to enjoy flying a kite at our local park.

The Castakite comes in four color variations but our entire family loves the solid bright orange.  Using the Castakite made flying our kite so easy.  My son was having a blast letting it catch the wind and go, then reeling it in.

A little background on Castakite:
After graduating college and finding no real jobs available I started up my own endeavor.
It started out as a fun idea with friends and family on the beach.  My cousin cut her hand while holding onto a kites string.  After we bandaged her up, I connected my fly fishing rod to her kite.  Not only did she and everyone else have fun but the seed was planted for Castakite.
My uncle became my investor and we launched Castakite at Toy Fair 2014.  Since then we have taken flight.  Castakite appeared on Fox Business’ “Made in America” segment in July and was selected by Popular Science Magazine as “Top 10 Best Products” in August.
Castakite is now on the shelves of every Toys R’ Us North American store and in over 200 small mom and pop shops.  Oh yea….we also make each one in the good ole’ USA
Castakite Review
Big brother helped little brother understand which direction to turn the reel.  It’s seriously that easy that kids can teach kids without receiving instructions themselves.  You just push a button to release the reel so the kite can go further out.  No need for someone to run down the field with the kite in their hand trying to get it in the air.

The Castakite is also adjustable which we played with when the wind was a little stronger at times.  The different angles let you keep the string higher when it’s extra windy.

We each took turns flying the kite and had such a wonderful family day.  The dogs even joined in on the fun.

The only downfall is we currently only have one.  So I know we will be heading to Toys R Us to pick up a couple more for all the kids to fly kites at the same time.  The Castakite will come in handy for Gabby since her special needs limit her to only using one hand.

The easy clip on the end makes it possible to attach any kite.  Noah has his eyes set on a dragon kite at the store.

When was the last time you flew a kite?

Full Disclosure: I received a Castakite complimentary for purposes of this review. All opinions and images are 100% my own.
